Understanding and Addressing Anxiety: Energetic and Transpersonal Therapy
Following a systemic interpretation of Dr. Ballester’s biographical and professional journey led by Mireia Florenza, the doctor and therapist will present some of the scientific foundations of energetic medicine, along with its practical applications for health and well-being. This will lead into a discussion of transgenerational aspects, which will be addressed together.
A short Q&A session will follow at the end.

Dr. Manel Ballester
Doctor of Medicine and Cardiology from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. He completed his training and worked at La Vall d’Hebron (Barcelona), and later joined the Department of Diagnostic Imaging at The National Heart Hospital (London).
He introduced two-dimensional echocardiography to Catalonia at the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau (Barcelona), where, together with Dr. Josep M. Caralps—who performed the first heart transplant in Spain—he organized the Heart Failure Team and directed the program for 19 years. They published numerous scientific studies.
He then became a Professor of Medicine and Cardiology at the Universitat de Lleida and Head of the Cardiology Department at Arnau de Vilanova Hospital (Lleida). He participated in the creation of a Molecular Biology Research Team, where he continued his research and publications.
After more than 30 years, he decided to move into outpatient cardiology clinics in the Catalan Pyrenees and in Badalona (Barcelona). Outside the hospital, he discovered that anxiety is the primary cause of many clinical manifestations, and that conventional medicine and cardiology, which he had studied and practiced successfully until then, could not resolve it.
At this point, he had an unexpected encounter with Eastern healing techniques, which he has been studying, practicing, and teaching for the past 19 years. In November 2024, he published The ABC of Energetic Medicine.
Mireia Florenza Gellida
Trained concurrently in various disciplines of body work, dance, and education, she has developed professionally in service of childhood and well-being. She studied classical dance at The Royal Academy of Dance, Oriental dance, Reiki, Educational Kinesiology and Brain Gym, Meditation and Yoga for children, and Eneacuerpo, among others.
At the same time, she pursued a degree in Primary Education at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, studied Leisure Management at the Centre de Estudis de l’Esplai, completed a Postgraduate in Science Education through ESO at ICE-UAB, a Master’s in Systemic Pedagogy at Institut Gestalt, Living Education at CAIEV, Systemic Therapy and Constellations at l’Espiral 108, and Energetic Medicine with Dr. Manel Ballester.
Over the past 30 years, she has supported growth processes as a Leisure Educator, Environmental Educator, Early Childhood and Primary School Teacher, Pedagogue, and Trainer of Trainers. She has contributed to the publication and implementation of various educational materials and has led talks for families.
In her last 15 years in public schools as a teacher and specialist in dance and environmental education, she combined her work with research groups in Systemic Pedagogy and Assisted and Systemic Reproduction, as well as the Training of Trainers in Pedagogy and Systemic Therapy for the Systemic Educational Movement (MES).
Four years ago, she left the school system to dedicate herself exclusively to systemic and energetic therapy, training, and writing.
