FESJAJÁ
- Friday, August 1, from 5:00 pm to 8:30 pm, and Saturday, August 2, from 11:30 am to 8:30 pm
- Location: Espai Buit

FesJajá, Mallorca’s Humor Festival, presents a unique art exhibition that invites reflection on the place humor deserves within the cultural landscape.
The presentation of this new edition of the festival is structured through a parallel between the artwork and the artist—a proposal conceived and produced by the festival itself. The exhibition will be on view at Espai Buit (Palma) on Friday, August 1, and Saturday, August 2, offering visitors the chance to discover, for the very first time, the artists featured in the 16th edition lineup.
The exhibition poses an open question: “Is humor art?”
Behind this initiative is ¿CEW? Producciones & Management, a company that has been creating cultural experiences in the field of comedy for over 15 years. Their events and festivals have become a true mass phenomenon, and yet—according to the so-called “guardians of art”—they are still not fully recognized as cultural proposals, despite the fact that audiences naturally embrace them as part of their cultural agenda.
The festival directors summarize it this way:
“The art of humor and comedy is born from the way we look at the world: pointing out what doesn’t work, embracing the absurd that surrounds us, connecting with others through laughter—but also through truth… And don’t all other art forms, solemnly regarded as cultural, stem from that same root?”
Humor is also memory and culture: it moves us, it transmits, it stirs consciences, and it helps build identities.
This exhibition features 44 works, 57 artists, 8 venues, and 6 different towns across Mallorca, making FesJajá one of the largest comedy festivals in terms of shows produced—not only in Spain, but also in Europe. For two months, October and November, the island becomes the European capital of humor.
